DVD Cloner III Blu-ray to DVD Pro General "Backup your Blu-ray movie to DVD discs with one click." That's what DVD Cloner says about this program. We tried out the trial version, and true enough, it doesn't take much more than one or two clicks to transfer all the code on a Blu-ray disk to four or five blank DVDs. In the initial screen shown below (Figure 1), you see the info - help - minimize - exit buttons at the top. On the right, you click the top button to split Blu-ray to DVD, and you click the bottom button if you want to split a computer-stored Blu-ray file to DVD. The little file button in between allows you to re-open a project you did not complete before and saved. The button on the left allows you to reset the default settings of the size of the target DVDs, 4480, 8100 or 23840.
Figure 1 - The Opening Screen The next screen you see is the file selection screen shown below (Figure 2). Here you select from the drop-down menu to select the Blu-ray file, or you click on the little folder button which opens a browse window. Note that if you're opening a file that's encrypted, you need to start up a third-party program to crack the encryption, similar to the way things are handled when you copy DVD to DVD. (They keep these things separate for legal reasons).
We won't describe the whole procedure, but you can see that it isn't very difficult. But it does take time. It depends, of course, on your computer's speed, but they claim most people can back up a Blu-ray disk in less than two hours. Features Here are the top five reasons they give to buy their system rather than someone else's.
Ease of Operation System Requirements Support Value for Money ConclusionWe are very impressed with this package's ease of use, its speed, and its simplicity. Our recommendation is based on the experience this company has had with their DVD to DVD system. They were one of the first to develop the means to back up DVDs, and here, again, they are first to develop a Blu-ray backup system. With a 30-day money-back guarantee, you can't go wrong.
